Here Is The Full Transcription Of The Video

Hello, hello, hello. How is everyone? Welcome to another week of my Facebook Lives where I come to you to spread wellness and share with you any insights, any inspiration that I have about helping you feel your healthiest and reawaken to your healthiest self.

Thank you so much for joining me. Those of you that are new to this page, we're constantly getting new people coming on and following me. Thank you so much for, for joining this community. I am Aimee Raupp and I've been in the business of helping women and men heal for over 15 years or just about 15 years I guess. And I've authored three books all about women's health. My first one came out in 2009 called Chill Out and Get Healthy. My second one in 2014, let's get, it called Yes, You Can Get Pregnant. And here's my first one, Chill Out and Get Healthy, right here. It's an old book now. And then, my most recent is called Body Belief, and it's all about how to heal autoimmune diseases and learn to love your body more, it's really important. Important things.

I have a lot to say and I've done a lot of research and I've learned a lot clinically on what can help women heal from conditions like endometriosis, which is what we're going to talk about today. I've been, like I said, in the business of helping women and men for 15 years. I'm an acupuncturist by trade, so I'm in clinical practice, but when I started writing books, all the way back in, so that book Chill Out and Get Healthy, came out in 2009. I wrote it in 2008.

Hi Laura. So great to have you on. We chatted yesterday. It's so nice to see you again.

When I started doing, I was a research scientist … So weird, a call just came through, but I have do not disturb on. Why does that happen?

Any way when I was a research scientist for many years, a biology major in college. Then I went on to do graduate work in biology and neuroscience, a lot of research in neuroscience and then I went to acupuncture school. And so research has always been a part of my passion and understanding how the body works and the physiology behind things and how I can help it function better is one of my favorite things that I can possibly do.

Hi, Max.

And so, when I started writing books, you have to do a lot of research and if, as I always say, if you have any integrity, you really show up and you really do your research and you, you really understand the ins and outs of what you're telling people to do, what does work, what doesn't work? I just posted about this Facebook Live on endometriosis on a page that I'm a part of. There's a doctor I do a lot of work with Dr. Jeffrey Braverman and he has a page on Facebook called Endometriosis and Trying to Conceive. And I'll go on that page often and I'll post or I'll do a Facebook Live like this to support those women.

So I posted about today's talk and there was a comment from one woman that was like, “Well, I hope you're not going to go on and say that like herbs and will heal and to be endometriosis. The only thing that heals endometriosis is surgery.”

And I had to really gather myself and understand that wherever she's coming from is the right space for her, but to also to say otherwise I have seen so many significant shifts and changes in a woman's body with endometriosis through just diet and lifestyle.

I am not against endometriosis surgery by any means. I think it helps us get to where we want to get faster. But I do think you really need to live a certain way and eat a certain way and take certain supplements and love yourself a certain way to truly prepare for that surgery, to get the most out of that surgery, and to heal and recover after that surgery. And most importantly, to be able to be the mom you want to be after that surgery. Right? At the end of the day, most girls are doing endometriosis surgery with the plan to get pregnant soon because endometriosis is in the way of them conceiving.

So, I guess my ego got a little ruffle … my feathers got ruffled when this woman posted this comment of like, “I hope you're not going to say natural things cure endometriosis” and we're not saying cure, we're saying heal, which is a very big difference. Cure means forever, make it go away. Surgery can't make it forever go away either. Your life and how you live will keep endometriosis at bay. And like I said, the surgery will help you get there faster. But in the past, I guess eight, nine months I've had two girls that were told the only way they would get pregnant was endometriosis surgery and both, just through following my diet and lifestyle and my herbal and my supplement recommendations went on to conceive naturally without the surgery, when doctors told them A) they would never conceive naturally, B) they were in premature ovarian failure, C) they were too old, and D) they needed surgery, it was the only option for them.

So I see it otherwise, right. But I also see girls go through the surgery and continue on my plan and things radically shift in so many beautiful ways. Endometriosis is hard to diagnose. You can't really diagnose it unless you go in laparoscopically. So that means you actually need a surgical procedure to actually diagnose it. So what endometriosis is, is it's endometrial tissue that grows outside the uterus. So the endometrial lining is what we shed every month when we get our period.

So endometriosis is basically that lining growing in places it shouldn't, so outside of the uterus, it can grow in the fallopian tubes, it can grow on the ovaries, or on the colon, and it can grow up kind of anywhere in the body. Women can have the smallest amount of endometriosis and the most intense symptoms, women can be covered in endometriosis and have no symptoms. It's a really interesting, curious “disease” and one that I feel like I've been secretly treating in all of my patients for 15 years because, when I first started practicing the statistic was that 40% of unexplained fertility challenges are due to endometriosis and endometriosis is a classic really inflammatory disease state in the body.

In Chinese medicine, we liken it to blood and she stagnation. Oftentimes there's cold combined dampness combined. So I treated with all of that in mind. And so what I started doing, at a young age in my clinical practice was kind of just assuming everybody had maybe a little bit of endometriosis. And so with diet I would really tackle a lot of the inflammation. And the way I've seen it clinically is when I shifted diet and inflammation goes down, the patient responds so much faster to the acupuncture, to the supplements because if there's so much inflammation in your body, it's basically like you're going to absorb, I don't know, 30% of what you're taking, 30% of what you're eating. Your body just can't handle it. So you have to reduce that inflammatory load first and then try like the supplements and then I even think and then be going into surgery in this prepared way because the lower inflammation you have going into the surgery, if that's what you choose to do, you'll recover so much faster.

I've seen girls be banged up for months and their period doesn't come back the right way. As I said earlier, I work a lot with Dr. Jeffrey Braverman. I love his surgeon, Dr. Vadali, they're an incredible team and they've helped so many of my girls and I'm indebted to them. I love those men and they're passionate about what they do. And some people get very uppity. They say, “Oh, they want to do a surgery.” No, they just see it as the fastest way to help you heal.

So anyway, a little tangent because I just read that comment and I just wanted to be clear that I come into this not with saying the the all natural way is the only way, but saying that I think when you mesh the world, when it's integrative medicine, that is when you get the best results and long lasting results, and I know that many of you who have endometriosis who are watching this right now want to have a baby.

So that's another huge piece that I think about for you guys. It's not just about you healing your endometriosis or healing from the surgery. It's keeping your body healed, keeping your body primed and prepped for pregnancy so that you can carry that pregnancy to term, have a healthy pregnancy, make a healthy baby, and then bring that baby into a healthy home. That is my main mission in life. Okay? That is my main mission for all of you.

So from what I've gathered clinically and the women I've worked with, the women I've helped heal their endometriosis, that I've been a part of their journey. There's three key steps the way I see it. Step number one is lowering inflammation on a nutritional level. So these two books really cover every freaking thing you need to know. This book is probably a little more geared towards the endometriosis style patient. I'd say, Yes, You Can Get Pregnant, can get you there if it's a moderate case or even if you're just recovering from surgery and wanting to prevent the endo from coming back full force.

But I believe the diet in here, is the Yes, You Can Get Pregnant diet, just a little more intense. It's elimination diet, which we now know and understand endometriosis to be an autoimmune condition. And so … Oh, thank you so much Laura. I re-read Body Belief last night again and love it. Thank you so much. That means the world to me. I liked it too. I'm really proud of it. I really am. It's so nice to put that level of knowledge and information out into the world and to get such positive feedback like that. So thank you so much.

But, so we look at endometriosis and we understand now that it's an autoimmune condition, so that tells me there's a lot more going on in your body then just endometrial tissue growing in the wrong areas. There's systemic inflammation, there's body disconnect, there's confusion, there's chaos, there's inflammation we really need to get a handle on and from my clinical experience and in fact, working with so many women trying to conceive, I've helped nearly, I think I'm over a thousand babies at this point in my career, which is incredible, and I'm beyond honored for it.

So I've learned a lot clinically. And, what I can say is dietary changes are absolutely imperative, absolutely imperative. They are not a, maybe I'll do it. No. And to me, the main things you need to cut out or gluten, sugar, soy and I would say dairy. There's more than you could get into, beans and nuts and things with lectins and things with genetically modified foods, things that have pesticides. But really, if you want to lower the inflammation in your body, you've got to cut out sugar, soy, dairy, and gluten. Those have to come out.

In Body Belief, I teach you exactly step-by-step on how to do it. I give you an incredible elimination diet to follow. I give you a prep phase where you just slowly start to remove the foods so you can start to ease into this. And then I give you a purify phase, which is 11 days of a real intense diet. I should intense and intensely healing diet where you're not eating a ton of different foods. You're eating a lot of the same kinds of foods and lots of bone broth to heal your gut because all, all autoimmune conditions, including endometriosis, have a gut dysbiosis connection. So we have to heal the gut in order to systemically lower inflammation in your body.

And then, Body Belief as a reawakened phase where it's slowly allows you to begin to reintroduce different foods. And then you can see which foods your body responds not so well too. I have an entire red flags symptom checklists in the book. And you'll see, when I had a call with a client yesterday who read Body Belief and had endometriosis, she said to me, “I thought I was in pretty good health and then I went into Body Belief and I went to the red flag symptoms page,” which is on page 10 and 11, “and I had like 80% of the symptoms, I can't believe I was feeling so unwell and I thought I was healthy.”

She made all the dietary changes and all of her symptoms have gone away. She feels incredible. I feel honored to have been a part of that journey. But that's what I see clinically all the time. So to those people that think diet has very little to do with their overall health and their overall fertility, I beg to differ on a very educated perspective. And from clinical. And my clinical experience alone, I really beg to differ. My personal experience alone. I beg to differ. Your diet has everything to do with the health of every single cell in your body.

So for those of you that are thinking, “Oh, I have to get control of my endometriosis because I need to improve the quality of my eggs.” Well guess what? Changing your diet improves the quality of every single cell in your body, including the quality of the cells in your ovaries. So every single cell in your body will shift and begin to thrive when you change your diet. Okay. So that's tip number one, reducing inflammation on a nutritional level.

Tip number two, reducing inflammation on an emotional level. Aw, thank you so much. I'm so happy you're here Tristana. Reducing inflammation on an emotional level. I talk about that piece in great detail in both of these books, in Body Belief, because I'm a trained Chinese medicine practitioner, I am taught to not just look at physical symptoms like why is the body reacting on this physical level, but also what emotional ties does or I should say, how should I say, what ties emotionally does this disease state have as well? So basically where your emotions playing a role?

And it could be a chicken or and egg thing. I'm not saying we're to blame for our disease states, but I'm saying we're playing a role and we can shift it. We can reduce inflammation. So there is hardcore science, neuroscience information that shows us stressful, negative, worrisome thoughts, fear based thoughts, basically, cause inflammation in the body. They are those types of thoughts, the hormones that they cause the body to release, which basically puts us into a fight or flight response system will cause the cells in our body to die, to be affected by inflammation, to basically kind of degrade and break down.

They will cause poor quality eggs for certain, they will cause an exacerbation of endometriosis symptoms for certain, Stressful, negative or worrisome thoughts cause inflammation in the body. When you take the hormones that those thoughts release in your body, like, adrenaline, cortisol, norepinephrine, guess what? Cells die when they're exposed to those hormones in a petri dish. When on the other hand, you expose cells to serotonin and oxytocin, the love, the feel good hormones, guess what? They thrive. This is not about eradicating negative, worrisome thoughts. That's impossible and completely unrealistic. That is not what I'm saying.

I am saying though, that we can find a balance. We can begin to talk to ourselves in a more loving kind way. We can begin to shift the emotional inflammation in our body and respond to ourselves in a way that is more loving and kind. That is the key in the Body Belief plan. Oh, and, Yes, You Can Get Pregnant plan as well, the biggest piece to me is about you reconnecting to yourself so you can begin to hear that conversation, hear the way you're beating yourself up everyday, hear the way you are not cheering yourself on every day, hear the way you are telling your body, it's failed you, it's broken, it's disappointing you every day, and shift that conversation.

I have these three pillars and Body Belief. Reconnect, renew, reawaken. You have to reconnect. And I should also mention, it just came to me right now because I'm so fired up about this conversation. Obviously. I have a really special offer for you guys, so please hang on till the end. Don't leave until the end because it's all about the reconnecting is what made me think of it. It's all about me helping you reconnect to your body so you can begin to shift from a space of fear to a space of love.

I have very severe bad negative thoughts and fears that I felt got worse and I'm not able to keep my pregnancy because of fears. Aw, well, honey, I love you and I appreciate your sharing because that's not an easy thing to say out loud. And so thank you so much. And you're not alone.

It's a vicious cycle. If you've been trying to conceive for some time and your body has been fighting against you, or you and your body are not in agreement. It's not easy. It's not an easy thing to overcome. And the fears set in, the worry becomes a full-time job. But you can shift it. The most amazing thing about beliefs and our perspective is that we can change it. It's shiftable. We can shift out of it. We can choose again, as my dear friend and teacher, Gabrielle Bernstein says, we can choose again. So when that thought comes up and the Body Belief plan, and in my coaching programs too, I love to work deep one-on-one with women like you to reframe that mindset. So stay tuned for the end because I have a special offer and a special gift.

But, so we can reframe those thoughts, to go from to release our fertility fears and allow love to come in. And again, it's not about completely getting away from the negative.

It's more about when the negative comes up we say, “Oh, there you are again. Thank you so much for reminding me,” that, that's still there. I acknowledged this feeling. I acknowledged this fear. It doesn't feel good, but how could I say it better to myself? How can I shift that thought? How can I begin to see the other side of that thought, the love side of that thought? Right? If there's all this fear and this isn't how I want to feel, then we say, “Well, how do you want to feel and how can we get there?”

And it's a slow process. I almost picture it as like a massage and it's a massaging of our beliefs process. Body Belief has all the tips and tools on how to do it. You just have to be committed all on your own to follow it. If you want someone to help you do it, I got you. I work with a lot of women all over the world to obviously help them shift their diets, but also shift their mindsets, which to me absolutely the imperative to healing from something like endometriosis and then allowing yourself, because then you could go and do the surgery, which is awesome and the endometriosis can be gone and then we're going to go in and hopefully get pregnant. Right? And hopefully our doctors are working with us on some diet stuff and some supplements to keep the inflammation at bay and the pregnancy is, pretty healthy and we have a healthy baby.

Gut we haven't looked at all the emotional pieces. And so chances are that endometriosis will begin to come back. And also, chances are that, that emotional healing that you are so worthy of, the power that is yours, that you deserve to step into, the freedom from fear that you deserve to have, never got the opportunity to heal. And the emotional inflammation is a tremendously huge part.

I'm an acupuncturist working with an endo surgeon in Cal. This is really amazing. There is such a huge emotional component that it's hard for patients to shift that have been in pain for so long. Thank you for these tips. I just ordered your book. Oh Bailey, thank you so much. And you know what Bailey? Email me because I'm actually gathering people's names and emails for like an apprenticeship style program, or like a weekend workshop where I teach my style. I'm not gonna teach acupuncture because we're all our own artists and we're all great at that, but what this whole diet, lifestyle, emotional approach that I think is so important to helping our patients heal. So email me if you want or message me on this page and give me your email address. I'll share some information with you too and see where you're at because I'm going to probably do a weekend out in California and one in New York as well. So anyway, thank you so much Bailey, that's so nice to hear.

And I agree. It's the emotional piece is huge. And even the endometriosis surgery doctor that I love to work with, Dr. Braverman, he couldn't agree more with me. On the diet, of course, he sends people all the time for me for diet stuff, but the emotional piece, he always says to me like, “Aim, I don't know what you do, but just keep doing it because it's working and I see such transformations in these girls on so many levels, it's not just like, ‘Oh, I did the surgery. They took the supplements. They got pregnant.'”

That is one avenue, but I think you're not giving yourself all you deserve if that's the only avenue. Do you know what I mean? And it could be your choice if you don't want to look at the emotional piece is fine, then I'm not for you, and that's okay and I send you love. But to me the emotional piece is a tremendous part of healing and maintaining our healing regimen. For those people that have tried every diet and nothing's worked, tried every supplement, nothing's worked, seen every doctor and nothing works. It's an emotional thing. We need to go deeper and heal the emotional piece.

Laura, you know what, email me that question so I can put it on my alumni board and then I can find you an acupuncturist in Florida. But that that emotional piece is really huge. So, our three key steps, one of course healing the inflammation from a nutritional perspective. Number two, healing the inflammation from an emotional perspective.

Of course, Laura, thank you.

And then number three is I wanted to touch upon the importance of supplements, but with a big asterisk right next to it. As one of my dear friends and colleagues says, you cannot out supplement a crappy diet, so you need to do the emotional work and you need to do the nutritional work. And then the supplements can actually do their work. If you just throw a bunch of supplements on top of a crappy diet in a body that's filled with inflammation, they're not going to do much and they're a waste of your money. I don't want you to waste your money. I love and respect my money and I love and respect your money. Okay? So supplements are a supplement to an already healthy diet and lifestyle program. They are a supplement. They are an addition. They are a cherry on top. They are not the only answer by any means.

Our soil is compromised in this country. Our food, is organic and non-GMO as we can get it, it's still not as good as it used to be back in the day. So we don't get as much nutrients from it, so we do need to supplement and I take a host of supplements every day and a lot of my patients do. for endometriosis clients, I think I'm Dr. Braverman has a supplement called Endo Optimize, which I think is awesome and really powerful antioxidant, mitochondrial enhancing supplement that really helps his endometriosis patients. And so I'm all for that supplement and you can go on his website and see that.

The other things that I love that are really powerful anti-inflammatories is a great Omega-3 fish oil. I'm a big fan of cod liver oil, fermented cod liver oil or non-fermented cod liver oil because it also contains Vitamin A and D, which are fat soluble vitamins which also help regulate hormones and help reduce inflammation. I think you should be taking upwards of one teaspoon a day of this Omega-3 cod liver oil. Another really important substance for reducing inflammation in the body and improving quality, improving mitochondrial function is taking a CoQ10 supplement. I like the brand. there are several brands out there, but I tend to recommend Life Extension. If you want to see a list of all my recommended supplements over to aimeeraupp.com/aimeesrecs.

We can post that link for you and you can see all of my supplements on there, but I would say beyond a really good high quality fish oil. I love cod liver oil. Ideally one teaspoon a day. I have the brands I like on my website. Taking CoQ10, about 200 milligrams a day is great. You can take upwards of 400. Doing myo-inositol in some form. I'm a big fan of the brand, it's Theralogix their Ovasitol, which is a powder that you add to water and drink every day. But Ovasitol is a powerful way to enhance mitochondrial function, reduce inflammation in the body, and balance blood sugar. It's great for PCOS patients. It's great for prediabetes. It's great though for endometriosis too because it really helps lower inflammation in the body and it helps level up blood sugar which helps balance hormones.

So, keep that in mind and other really powerful anti-inflammatory substances that I'm a huge fan of. Spirulina, blue, green algae, wheat grass, anything like that, I've looked at that as nature's multivitamins and all of the greens in there. So the green sea vegetables, powerfully anti-inflammatory help really support your liver and it's detox pathways which is typically compromised in an endometriosis patient. So you really want to think of ways to support the liver and its detoxification system. So I love spirulina for that. I also love, it's a powerful antioxidant called glutathione, one of the most powerful antioxidants on the market. And again, same thing, you take like a nice teaspoon of that a day. The brand I like on there, the brand, I'd take it home is Seeking Health Liposomal Glutathione, another great way to reduce inflammation in the body.

Those are just some of the highlights. Like, I'm still a big fan of, of course, a good quality prenatal. Make sure you're taking something with folate and folic acid, you want methylfolate. Make sure you're taking a probiotic, a really good fish oil. I'm a huge fan of liver as in the organ meat. You can take that in capsule form. You could eat it. I talk about all of the supplements I love in this book and in this book for managing hormonal issues. Endometriosis is a big one obviously, and helping your body heal and get ready to conceive.

So anyway, what I wanted to also share with you, my special offer to you is through the month of June. So for a couple more weeks we are running a special on all of my coaching packages.
