Aimee Raupp,:

Hello, how is everyone? Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. I get to come to you live, and let's see. We're waiting for people to come on. Here we go. Here we go. Hi everyone. Hello, hello, hello. So it is time for one of my lives. I am Aimee Raupp, of Aimmeraupp.com, and I have the pleasure and the honor of being a part of your community. So, thank you so much. And I'm here to educate, inspire, empower, those are all my missions. I'm the author of these books right above my head and most of you know me in the fertility space. As a fertility detective. I have been helping women get and stay pregnant for two decades. All of my advice is based on my clinical experience. It is not medical advice. So, please always work with your healthcare practitioners to figure out the path that's best for you or come and work with my team.

We offer coaching to women all over the world and there are different options on ways to work with us. I also did just launch a very intensive six month functional fertility group coaching program. We are now accepting new applicants for the next cohort, which will kick off at the end of March. So, go to my website, aimeeraupp.com/ffp for functional fertility program, FFP, and check out the program there. And then you have to apply to be accepted, and you can ask direct questions of me in that application and I send you a voice memo as an answer. So, go check that out if that's of interest to you. It's my deepest dive program that I've offered and it's now currently the only way you can work with me. If you want to work with one of my coaches that's available on the site as well under aimeeraupp.com/coaching.

And then there's a lot of you out there that are self-starters and just from the information I put out here, the information in my books following me, following my post, doing all the things, so many success stories come out of that. So, for those of you that are self-starters or don't have the budget to spend more on your fertility because it's already so damn expensive, you don't have to. What I put out here and what I put out in my books and what I share in my social media posts can really help you do this. And I share stories of hope every single month. And I'd say 30 to 40% of those stories of hopes are completely, those are women that have just read my book and they're applying all the things and they're consuming all the information and doing all the things to support themselves.

So, know that too. Know that I am here to support you however you need it. Okay? And I'm cheering for you and I believe in you. And today we're going to talk about the liver, not eating liver, which you know I'm a huge fan of because it's one of the most nutrient dense organs that exist. But the liver is also a super-duper important organ when it comes to balancing hormones. So all the time, every day, several times a day, I am asked Aimee, I have low estrogen. Aimee, I have high estrogen. Aimee, I have low progesterone. Aimee, I have low testosterone. Aimee, Aimee, I have this high low this. How do I make this hormone better? And nobody loves my answer because my answer is never super simple. It's usually like it's a holistic approach. And I want to explain why, why there are bandaids. Sure, you could take estrogen, you could consume flax seeds or beets or blackstrap molasses to boost estrogen or seeds.

Black sesame seeds, we love those In Chinese medicine, you could take progesterone creams, you could eat yams, Chinese yams. You could do certain herbs to boost progesterone, totally. But those are bandaid or vitex is another example. Those are bandaid approaches because the root of your hormones is so much more than just estrogen and just progesterone, right? And so, one of the main systems in the body that manages that helps your hormones stay balanced is your liver. And so, you want to picture your liver as, and I know people are like, and you want us to eat liver? Isn't it the most toxic organ? No, the liver is like a filter. That's all it is. It's just a filter. It's like a sieve. It takes things in, it tells it where to go, and it flushes it out. And then you poop out the waste or you pee out the waste, you sweat out the waste.

Those are the main ways we excrete the toxins. We no longer need. But the liver is the guy, I'm going to call it a guy, is the organ that helps manage that waste. So, when it comes to imbalance hormones, things we need to do to help the body shift into fertility friendly behavior is we've got to take the burden off the liver, so it can focus on balancing hormones. So, if you've read any of my books or you've been following me, I'm all about non-toxic everything, right? We need to go. So, what burdens the liver? So, this is one thing I say a lot, and maybe this will make sense of, I'll say the older we get, the easier our pipes get clogged. And so, therefore if we're trying to make a baby later in life or we are up against hormonal imbalances even earlier in life, we really need to focus on cleaning out those pipes.

And what I mean when I say cleaning out the pipes is basically supporting the liver in its detox pathways because the pipes get really clogged by just living your life. So the bath and beauty products you use on a regular basis, those toxins, they're called endocrine disrupting chemicals. They are everywhere. And you guys know I have lists of Aimee approved products on my website. If you go to aimeeraupp.com/fertility supplements, you'll see my Aimee approved lists. But you need to go non-toxic with bathroom beauty products. You need to lower your overall exposure to those chemicals in your environment, so that you can take the load off of the liver. Therefore, it can focus on balancing hormones and doing what it needs to do, right? So, that's one major thing. The pipes get clogged as well from poor diet. And a lot of times too from diet that is high in pesticide load because pesticides act just like those chemicals in our bath and beauty products, they're endocrine disrupting chemicals. They clog up the system.

So, we want to get rid of these things. We want to get rid of endocrine disrupting chemicals in our bath, beauty and in our foods, right? Those are doing a number on the liver. And then the liver can't focus on the other things because it's so busy. The burden is so big. Another huge burden on the liver is stress. And I'm going to explain this from a more physiological perspective. We know stress impacts things because it impacts our nervous system, which can also impact our hormones because if the body doesn't feel safe or secure, it will not prioritize fertility either, which again, is medically based. This is not energetically based or something that I've made up from an eastern medicine perspective. It's very clear in the western medical data that stress impacts fertility because it creates a sense of unsafety, or is that a word?

It takes away the sense of safety in the body. So, it will not prioritize fertility. Fertility in the nervous system, we need to be in our rest relaxed state more than we're in a fight or flight state. But stress also increases cortisol levels. Cortisol levels block estrogen, I'm sorry, block progesterone receptors. And then we stop being able to, that causes our progesterone to go down and then in turn causes our estrogen to go up. And then that also that stress puts the burden on the liver and then it's not detoxing that excess estrogen. And then we have a picture of estrogen dominance, which a lot of things like fibroids, endometriosis, cysts, adenomyosis, a lot of fertility challenges, cases fall into this excess estrogen, estrogen dominant presentation. But one thing to keep in mind is it's not always estrogen dominant. A lot of times it's progesterone deficiency.

And so, but the same thing, this all involves the liver. And so, the big things you want to take the burden off of the liver is avoiding the environmental toxins, avoiding the pesticide, so going as organic as we can with our foods, and then really managing that stress. Now we're human stress happens. Shit happens. Life happens. I'm not saying that you have to live a stress fee life, but I am saying that we need to manage it better if we're not. Things that the liver love, so things when we take the burden off the liver, now it can focus. Okay, now I can focus on my detox pathways. I can unclog those pipes, so that this is how I see it too, of when the pipes become unclogged, then the liver can actually prioritize. Okay, I'm going to balance the hormones. I'm going to absorb the nutrition I need for my foods, and I'm going to improve cellular health.

And when we improve cellular health, we're improving the health of eggs and sperm, right? So, taking the burden off of the liver, other things, caffeine, excess caffeine, excess alcohol intake, those are going to really burden the liver as well and not allow it to prioritize the hormones. And that's what we need. We need to prioritize the detox pathway, so that it can properly bounce the hormones. Other things the liver needs, so some of my favorite liver supportive foods, we're going to go with foods first, turmeric, broccoli, any cruciferous vegetable. I really love broccoli sprouts as one of the best ways to support liver detoxification. Magnesium, which is not a food, I can't believe I said I'm going to talk about food and I just said magnesium. So, we could say magnesium rich foods, but we'll push that aside. I'm going to put it over in my supplement category here.

Notes. So turmeric, broccoli sprouts, dandelion roots, beets, beet roots, garlic, greens, like I love a super greens supplement or source every day. So, one of my favorite, two of my favorite green super food supplements are Athletic Greens and Paleo Greens, Paleo valley Greens, sorry. They have everything in there. And the greens are a great way to support the liver and detox pathways. That's why in the egg quality diet, I constantly say it all day long, you need to, I'm all about eating animal protein. I'm all about a protein rich diet. But even more, you need to have a diet that's rich in vegetables, six to eight servings of vegetables a day. Why? Vegetables are loaded with antioxidants, they're loaded with other vitamins that the liver needs to do its job, but they really support that unclogging of the pipes. They're also loaded with fiber. Fiber is really important in supporting the liver and it's detox pathways, right?

So, in egg quality diet and in body belief, I have a concoction called the Liver Support Soup. That to me like I created that I made my own recipe based on all the foods. So there's carrot. Carrots are another really good one for liver detoxification. There's carrots, beets, ginger, turmeric, garlic, dandelion, greens, salt, pepper, lemon. What else am I missing guys? I think that's it. I make my own Liver Support Soup pretty regularly. The recipe is in the egg quality diet. It's also in my book Body Belief. And anybody who's doing my egg quality diet or has done it, you will know that Liver Support Soup is part of your daily routine for ideally forever. So sometimes too though, I don't do it every day. I'll do my athletic greens or my paleo valley greens. And then some days I do my Liver Support Soup.

Some days I'm just eating dandelion greens and arugula. Arugula is another really good food to support the liver. And I love beets, so I'll eat beets regularly. Great way. I'm adding turmeric and ginger. Two things. I'm cooking with garlic gingers. Oh, thank you. My god. You're right, Crystal, I forgot very important ingredients in the Liver Support Soup, cilantro and parsley. And I put a whole head of each into my Liver Support Soup because they are the best food to detox the liver. So again, to recap, beets, dandelion greens, ginger, turmeric, garlic, lemon, salt, cilantro, parsley. I think those are all the ingredients of the Liver Support Soup. And then I recommend some water and some bone broth. You can make it into a soup, exactly. Chicken broth too,, thank you. So the reason I call it Liver Support Soup, and the reason I came up with the recipe, and the reason I say to do it all the time is because it's supporting the detox pathways of the liver.

Now some people say to me, oh, I hate beets. Okay, then pick one of the other foods. You don't have to eat every single one of those foods. And some people will say, oh, I can't make that soup every day, fine. Or it tastes disgusting, I don't like it, fine. Then eat them, consume them somehow, right? Beet root powder is also another amazing things. That's one of the reasons why I love the Paleo valley Greens. It actually has beet root in it. You can do dandelion green tea as well as dandelion greens tea. It's not as potent as the actual greens itself, but it is a good start and it's a good way to support. Milk thistle is another really good herbal tea remedy to support liver detoxification. And so, you want to be doing these things on a daily basis because even if you're living a super clean lifestyle, you're still exposed to stress, you're still exposed to environmental toxins. I rented the dress from Rent to Runway. I love it. It's great.

It was probably dry-cleaned. I'm exposed on some level to these toxins, right? But I'm a human and I want to live my life and it's a pretty dress and I want to wear it. And so, I balance it all out. Okay. But I'm hitting my greens and if this is the only exposure I'm getting, not so bad. Most people are getting exposures from everything they put on their skin to the air quality, their breathing to the Febreeze, things they have in the bathroom to their carpets, all these things. So, you want to really think about, even if you're living a super clean life, you still really need to support the liver because now you've unclogged the pipes by living that clean life. But now the liver to do proper functioning, to keep those hormones balanced, to get rid of all the toxins, so that your cells are not filled with toxins, which will age the shit out of your eggs and sperm and cause them to be poor quality. Now we got to give the liver what it needs to function properly.

So, I've talked about the foods. Next I want to talk about it also needs a little bit of sweating, ideally five times a week. So, that could be an infrared sauna. With girls trying to conceive, I don't want us too hot, too sweaty. It's not good for estrogen levels, it kind of dries us out too much. But so I'm not into, and you guys can Google Aimee Raupp an exercise. So don't ask questions here, just Google that and watch that video because I always get questions on exercise. But sweating like 10 minutes. And that could come from exercise. So, 20, 30, 40 minutes of exercise, five times a week, perfectly fine and safe for everyone. High intense cardio, hot yoga. Tracy Anderson inside the studio at high temperatures, no bueno for fertility. Once in a while, perfectly fine, but a little bit of sweat is a great way to support the liver in its detox pathways. Another great nutrient is magnesium. The liver needs magnesium to detox. So, I use my magnesium spray. Is this it? Yeah, my magnesium oil. It's so funny that I have that.

It's random. I use this every single night. I do 10 to 12 sprays on my abdomen and inner thigh every single night. It helps with deeper sleep. Magnesium also helps with vitamin D absorption, but it's amazing to help with liver detox pathways. So, we need magnesium, we need a little bit of sweating. We need B vitamins. I love to consume liver as a source of nature's B complex as a great way to support liver function. So, B-vitamins super important. Antioxidants, super important in supporting the liver and its detox pathways. So, things like glutathione, which is the master antioxidant in the body. I tend to recommend n-acetylcysteine more because it's just less expensive and more readily available. You guys can see all my recommended supplements on aimeeraupp.com/fertilitysupplements. Okay? But you want to think about B-vitamins, you want to think about magnesium, you want to think about antioxidants.

One of my favorite antioxidant supplements is ResveraCel by Thorne. It has the NAD in it, it's got resveratrol at a lower dose. It's got trimethylglycine, all things that are really going to support your body and it's antioxidants. We need amino acids. The liver needs amino acids to properly do its detoxification. So, if you follow my diet, you are getting plenty of amino acids just from your foods, just from your bone broth, just from your animal protein. Plenty. If you're not, you might need some additional support in the amino acid department and you're taking those separately. So, things like L-carnitine or something like that, those are all amino acids. So, typically I don't recommend amino acids because the diet I recommend itself is high enough in amino acids that I don't think anybody needs anything additional. And then like I said, the herbal stuff, dandelion green tea, milk thistle tea, those are both super supportive to liver detoxification.

Other things that are really supportive, acupuncture. And then if you're working with an herbalist, Chinese herbalist too because the liver as well in Chinese medicine plays a really important role in circulation and flow in our bodies and also in building and supporting blood, which blood in Chinese medicine is one of the master substances for fertility. It's one of the main things we need. And so, that's what you really want to think about. So, every day I always say I want my plate, I want to look at my plate and I want to say, okay, where's my veggie? Where's my protein? Where's my fat? The liver does also need fat. Your body needs fat just across the board and for optimal hormone production. But when you are consuming like the standard American diet and then you also have the standard American exposures to chemicals, your liver is just clogged up and you're going to see what are signs and symptoms of that. You're going to see things like bad PMS, breast tenderness before your period, you'll see heavy clotty periods, you might see endometriosis, you might see fertility challenges.

Fausta, we have to catch up, right? I actually just put your website on my, so this is Fausta. She's a good friend of mine, Sacred Feminine Arts. Someone just asked about yoni egg and I gave them your website by the way. Fausta and I work together at The Well. Yeah. So what was I now I got totally sidetracked. But if you're living that like standard American toxic lifestyle, you are so clogged up and you are going to see a lot of signs of what look like excess estrogen for women. So, you can just google those estrogen dominant symptoms. But remember that's not always excess estrogen. It could be super low progesterone. Either way, the pipes are clogged and you're dealing with high levels of oxidative stress. Oxidative stress ages your eggs, ages your ovaries, ages the sperm, and compromises egg and sperm quality.

So, it all comes back to the liver. So every day I think about how am I supporting my liver? And I'm going to eat my beets, I'm going to eat my greens, I'm going to get my six to eight servings of vegetables every single day. I'm going to eat as organic as possible and avoid those pesticides. I'm using non-toxic bath and beauty products across the board. I mean obviously I make a non-toxic skincare line. So, Aimee Raupp uses Aimee Raupp Beauty, but I have Aimee approved lists on my website, aimeeraupp.com/fertilitysupplements. You can go and start to, and you want to really think about that. I want to take the burden off my liver, aka I want my pipes to be less clogged. Another sign of liver burden is irregular bowel movements, either loose or constipated. You need to be pooping every single day, if not multiple times a day, that tells me your liver is functioning properly. If you are not, you might want to consider adding in more fiber.

One of my favorite fiber supplements out there right now is made by Designs for Health and it's called Paleo Fiber. I myself take it a couple of times a week. I like to play around and experiment. You want to make sure you're using your magnesium and then you really want to do, you want to think about stress too. And so overall, I think, and when we talk about safety, I know this conversation is prickly for some people. I just did a post on TikTok and it was very prickly for people about safety and fertility. And I did one a while back here on Instagram and same thing, it was prickly like, oh, so you're telling me I'm not getting pregnant because I'm not safe? And it's like, what I mean by that though is something like this, the liver has other priorities because you are not you, but like persons, we are constantly assaulting our body with these toxins, with these burdens, and therefore the body does not feel safe to prioritize getting pregnant because it's got all this other shit to manage.

So, you want to think about how am I making it easier on my body, making it easier on my liver to do its job, so that it can give me the results I want, right? Okay guys, so there you have it, the liver, its role, what to do, how to support it. If you have any questions, if you watch this video later, just leave questions in the comment section and I will go through. Oh, this is a good question. If you have fatty liver, could that affect fertility? Sure. Because again, same thing, the liver can't prioritize right now. And so, you want to really break down. And so, with that I would use, there's another supplement, and again, I'm not your doctor, so again, this is not medical advice. You should double check this with a healthcare practitioner. But Designs for Health again, has a supplement called LVGB and it really helps with breaking down and with bile absorption. I also will use enzymes for that. Like Wobenzym is one of my favorites, caster oil packs.

Caster oil packs over your liver, over your liver here, really help detoxify as well. I would do that in a fatty liver situation. And yeah, sedation, that's another one that really comes up like, okay, I just had a hysteroscopy or I'm getting sedated for my embryo transfer. How do I detox from the anesthesia? Same thing. Get my book, The Quality Diet, make that Liver Support Soup, drink it every day. Get yourself some broccoli sprouts, eat a handful every day. The key with broccoli sprouts is you've got to eat them. The eating of them is the best way to get the sulforaphane, which is what's going to help the liver detox. I do not like supplements like DIMA or indole three carbonyl or calcium D-glucarate unless absolutely necessary and warranted based upon testing and even still only for short periods of time because it can decrease overall estrogen, including good estrogen. And then, let's see. Okay, yeah, so I'm just going to answer the questions that have to do with liver. Okay, so now I'm going to go and I will see you guys later. I appreciate you guys.

Thank you so much for tuning in and it's nice to be here with you live. I will see you very soon for another fertility hot seat. And let's see. Yeah, any questions, just leave them in the comments below and I'll circle through later. Okay. Are the broccoli sprouts okay to be cooked? So, good question. No, you want to eat them raw, like not raw uncooked basically, or take a very potent broccoli sprout powder or pill, which I have them listed on my site, aimeeraupp.com/fertilitysupplements. How do you found out if you have low estrogen? You got to test for it, you should test for it in your follicular phase. You could also use at-home testing kits like the [inaudible 00:24:16] or the Mira, which test estrogen levels. Those are the ones I usually recommend. If you go to my site, again, aimeeraupp.com/fertilitysupplements. I do have a discount code for Mira. I think it's like $25 off one of their bundles. If you use my name, Aimee, A-I-M-E-E. Okay, have a beautiful day guys. Goodbye.
