I'm just going to drink some water and be live. Just kidding. It's time for another Fertility Hot Seat. Yes, that is what we are doing today. Fertility Hot Seat.

I'm good. I'm grateful that you're here. Thank you.

Tell me what's… I saw you comment. So, that's why I was waiting for you to request because I saw you come on. I was like, yes, I'm going to pick this girl today. Tell me what's going on. How can I help?

Speaker 2:

So, 42. Okay. I've been trying to conceive had five miscarriages and a failed IVF. PCOS, low ovarian reserve. Okay. That's husband's good. We've been tested back and forth. We're going to testing again because we are going to try to pursue IVF in November of this year.

Speaker 1:

Okay. And were the pregnancies natural or with IVF?

Speaker 2:

No, they were with fertility treatment, not through IVF. They were timed intercourse. So, we had the fertility meds and the monitoring, but we didn't have the actual IVF.

Speaker 1:

And, then how far along were you with those losses? How far along was the longest?

Speaker 2:

I never make it past the nine week mark. Okay. It's very early. And, they suspect. It's because of a placental defect in development of the placenta.

Speaker 1:

Okay. And, have the embryos or the tissue been tested to see if there's chromosomal abnormalities or not?

Speaker 2:

Yes. So, we were able to test when we had our first IVF cycle, which failed. And, they were minor, minor chromosomal abnormalities, mostly pointing toward the placenta, not necessarily the embryo.

Speaker 1:

Okay. And what about the miscarriages? Were you able to test any of the tissues there?

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

And have you had an autoimmune workup or an immunological workup?

Speaker 2:

Yep. Everything is completely fine.

Speaker 1:

And have they done the complete clouding factor panel? It's like 30 something, 18 different vials of blood. Have you gotten that done the miscarriage panel?

Speaker 1:

No. Okay. That's one of the first things I would get done. It's called a miscarriage panel, also known as a clouding factor panel.

Speaker 1:

I actually have a Google doc that I created.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

That complete clotting factor panel.

Speaker 1:

I can find it for you though, too, but it's literally it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, things that they test for. So it's significant when we hang up on this, you'll DM me, I can't DM you because we're not friends, but DM me.

Speaker 1:

And then I'll reply with this doc and you can just take this to your doctor. It's a quest lab workup. So, it tests for all. And then if any of these come up, you talk to your fertility doctor about it.

Speaker 1:

And, basically they're, hopefully they're willing to treat you. They'll either use baby aspirin with transfer or once you could be pregnant, which I would recommend no matter what, if you're trying naturally or doing timed intercourse, anything like that, throw a baby aspirin into your mix.

Speaker 1:

And, then I would also, they might, if you have one of these clotting factors, then you might need to add in Lovenox or a blood thinner, an injection into the beginning of the pregnancy, which was go ahead.

Speaker 2:

They did that during the IVF cycle. That was the first time that I'd ever had that.

Speaker 1:

Okay. And you didn't get pregnant with the IVF?

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Okay. Okay. So they're onto something. So that's a good start. That's what I would say there. Then the next things I want to think about is the PCOS and managing blood sugar.

Speaker 1:

Are you on Ovasitol or myo inositol as a supplement?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm on myo inositol with myo chiro.

Speaker 1:

Chiro de chiro. Okay. And how much are you taking the-

Speaker 2:

I take two scoops. Okay. Perfect. In 12 ounces of water, twice a day.

Speaker 1:

Okay, perfect. Go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Morning and night.

Speaker 2:

Okay. And then what other supplements are you taking?

Speaker 2:

So, actually I started the egg quality diet together with my husband.

Speaker 1:

Great. Thank you.

Speaker 2:

So, we're on day 30, 31, I think.

Speaker 1:

Do you still like me or no?

Speaker 2:

I love it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, good.

Speaker 2:

I love you. I love it.

Speaker 1:

Because for as tough as it is, I've learned so much. Like I could eat salmon before. No problem. And then after doing phase two detoxing, somehow I cannot eat salmon.

Speaker 1:

That's interesting.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't stick. I and-

Speaker 1:

Gives you loose bowels or something?

Speaker 2:

No. I vomit. I couldn't keep it down.

Speaker 1:

Fascinating. Okay. Yeah. Can you take fish oil?

Speaker 2:

Fish oil, I take and chia seeds I can take. So I get some omegas there. Okay. Same with sauerkrauts. There are certain things that I'm just reacting to that I never knew before. So, feeling kind of sucky and bleh for years.

Speaker 1:

And, okay.

Speaker 2:

I really quite got to a point of doing this as an elimination diet. And now I'm really paying attention to the point where this makes me feel like garbage or this makes me feel good.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Good. And, so that's a big difference between before heading into the next IVF, correct?

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

So, I'm doing that, both of us. He's of course taking a little bit more calorie and protein intake.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

We're basically structuring it based on that diet for me and then he's adding more.

Speaker 1:

Not anymore. Okay. And weight wise for you, are you at a good BMI or

Speaker 2:

So right now I'm at a 30.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. And where were you in the past?

Speaker 2:

Pushing 40. I'd lost a lot.

Speaker 1:

So, okay. That's great. Okay.

Speaker 1:

So, that's another good thing. So we couldn't see inflammations coming down.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You're probably absorbing nutrition better. So, did you have a lot of kinks and red flags and now they're going away?

Speaker 2:

Yes. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I used to be able to have things that made me difficult to breathe. I would just feel sick for two days. I couldn't digest. They would be up or out. I would feel tired all the time. Now, it's changing a lot.

Speaker 1:

That's amazing.

Speaker 2:

The broth has make me feel good. And if I do eat something that I have a reaction to, I stick to the butternut squash soup. So, because that's like –

Speaker 1:

I know the best too. It taste so good.

Speaker 2:

It taste so good. And it's… I keep it down. So, if I able to keep any food down, I usually take two of those. Just –

Speaker 1:

So, the other thing I would think about introducing, if you haven't already and someone commented to, which I think is a great comment is digestive enzymes.

Speaker 1:

But I like them in the form of it's called wobenzyme. W O B E N Z Y M. Okay. And they're called proteolytic enzymes.

Speaker 1:

But, what they are, and you'll see if you search it on Amazon Garden of Life makes the one that I like the most. It's they'll say for joint pain, but it's really because it's a powerful anti-inflammatory.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

But, women with recurrent pregnancy loss, it's actually shown to help reduce inflammation. You take it through the first trimester and it's helped with, it was a small study, but it's helped. I think it was 50 or 60% of the women in the study actually carry those pregnancies.

Speaker 1:

They made it further along than they ever had before. And, I think it has something to do with breaking down inflammatory substances in the body. So that's something else I would consider adding to your protocol and making sure that I know you said you're taking fish oil, make sure you're taking three grams of fish oil a day.

Speaker 2:

So I take a, yes, I take that and it has EPA and DHA in it and take the fermented cod liver oil.

Speaker 1:

Oil. Okay.

Speaker 2:

The regular prenatal, Co-q10 ubiquinol for easy absorption. Vitamin D.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I've read through the book front, cover back. I'm taking supplements. I'm also doing the E three live?

Speaker 1:

E three live. Okay, perfect.

Speaker 2:

And when I add into my smoothie, I add in some Macha [inaudible 00:09:32] and chia seeds and a little bit of Royal jelly.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. That all sounds good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, my team is on here, too.

Speaker 1:

They just commented. You guys can find all the recommended supplements under Amy's Recommendations on my website. But, I would add in the wobenzyme.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

And then it sounds like you're doing everything else. Are you taking the liver pills? I know you're doing Cod liver. Are you doing the liver?

Speaker 2:

Yes. I'm doing an Ancestral Supplements, beef liver. And I'm also adding in the feminine one, which also adds a little-

Speaker 1:

It's the ovary in it, right in the uterus. Yeah. I like it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I like it. I actually was just emailing with them today. Cause I'm like, I want to start having all your supplements on my site. Cause my doctor Ron's liver pills are out of stock again until November. So, I think I'm going to switch-

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I checked those first because I went through the list that you have. Then I found that alternate and then so I got those for me.

Speaker 2:

And, then my husband also takes the liver ones and the bone marrow as well as the good MMOFO for him. So, I take the Fem, he takes the MOFO

Speaker 1:

Okay. Amazing. Okay.

Speaker 2:

I think the fertility issues, are on my end. But we're figuring with him, let's just do everything to boost, whatever he can.

Speaker 1:

Can listen. It appears to be on your end entirely. We'll never clearly know to be honest. And, I always say we can always make sperm better.

Speaker 1:

There's no harm in that, right? For him to feel healthier, too.

Speaker 1:

It's like, we're just giving all our goods to this baby, right?

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, okay. So you'll do the clotting factor panel and I think the Lovenox with any, you say you find out you're pregnant naturally before you start this next IVF, like I would do. And if you're trying, but if you're trying naturally to add in the baby aspirin, after you ovulate, once you could be pregnant and then also consider if you get a positive, I would call that fertility doctor right away and be like, I want to start the Lovenox. That's kind of have that protocol in place for you.

Speaker 1:

And, then how are you doing on the mental, emotional front? How are you feeling there?

Speaker 2:

So, honestly it's been an emotional roller coaster. Of part depressed, part beaten, part everything. But, then since we decided, okay, we're going to give IVF one more try instead of rushing into it as soon as possible. What if we take some time to try to heal internally? That's when we started to do this diet, I read the PCOS diet, the It Starts With The Egg. And then I did, we decided on the Egg Quality Diet and it's like, let's give ourselves a hundred days. Okay. Let's just do it hardcore.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Are we still trying in the meantime?

Speaker 2:

We're trying, but not putting so much pressure on it. Okay. Because, then I feel like that would just stress me out.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 2:

Then we added in the magnesium baths for me, which I had no idea of. I didn't even know that was a thing and I have never slept better in my entire life, which is a huge thing. Cause this would be running all the time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Okay. And what are you doing for this? For the mental support, are you-

Speaker 2:

A journal and I meditate.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. Good. Do you have people you can talk to about everything you're going through or good support-

Speaker 2:

My family is amazing. And my husband is the most incredible human being I know.

Speaker 1:

Good luck you guys. Yeah. Good.

Speaker 1:

And you believe right? I mean, you must you're here.

Speaker 2:

Yes. This is it. November's it. So-

Speaker 1:

Okay. Yeah. Then, so tell me, we have a few minutes left. What are some burning questions you want to ask me?

Speaker 2:

I basically just wanted to ask, is there anything extra that I should be doing? Yeah. Or should I be adding something

Speaker 1:

I would add, like I said, the wobenzyme. Yeah. The baby aspirin for certain, every cause. Are you ovulating regularly with the PCOS?

Speaker 2:

Now that I've lost a lot of weight. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I wasn't before. But, I am now.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I would just get in the habit. I ovulate? I'm going to start taking it. It's a low dose aspirin, 81 milligrams, of course. Check with your doctor. But, as far as I've ever seen, 20 years of experience, there's no real contraindications.

Speaker 1:

And, I would take that would add that into the mix. And then just keep doing all the things you're doing. Diet wise, supplement wise, add in that wobenzyme get that complete clotting factor panel done.

Speaker 1:

You can get that done ASAP, honestly. Okay. And then yeah. And between now and November, I mean, you never know what could happen too, which would be yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I guess my only vice that I have a very hard time, let's say, I think is tea. I need a cup of tea in the morning. Otherwise I can't function.

Speaker 1:

I think that's okay. So I always say one cup of caffeine a day is perfectly fine and healthy. It has to be organic. I'm into tea these days too. In fact, I have my morning tea up here. I like steep my own tea leaves. I get the raw organic ones. Yes.

Speaker 2:

I know. I don't do the all

Speaker 1:

I get the organic ones. I said we're all loose is what I meant to say loose and add the collagen peptides to it, have it with a little coconut milk. So you get a little fat in there. Sometimes I even add a little bit of ghee or something like that if I want extra fat. But, one cup of coffee or caffeine a day is perfectly fine and is not going to negatively impact your fertility. And, then you're sleeping better. And how about movement? Are you moving your body?

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yes. Yeah. We take walks around where we live here, if here they have a whole walk path that goes around, we do that.

Speaker 1:

And are you connecting with the baby and talking to it, calling it through? Do you feel anything like that or is that-

Speaker 2:

Well, that's part of the journaling. So, let's say I'm having wishful thoughts for our future.

Speaker 1:

Good. I love it.

Speaker 1:

And, I think too, practice go through your life and just kind in your home and look at things and be like, well, I can't wait to share this with you.

Speaker 1:

Or, when you guys are having your fun of, just see how fun it is here and we can't wait for you're the cherry on top. We can't wait to bring you through. But, just that kind of start to imagine your life too, of what it's going to look like when you are pregnant. When baby is on its way. And, I just think, play that game a little bit. Kind of, be more in that playful mood versus the gripping so tight, “When is it going to happen?” Mood.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we've definitely shifted from… and I completely get, and I can empathize with everybody now at this age and having tried so long every month feels like a year.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

Every two months feels like 10 years, but it's the idea of, let's say maybe have an IVF now in September versus waiting until November when we will have finished the a hundred days, maybe that makes all the difference.

Speaker 2:

And, we just wanted to know that for whatever may or may not happen, if we ever get asked, did you try this? Did you, this thing we can actually say, “yes, we have.”

Speaker 1:

That's it. You want to be able to look back and be like I did do.. And, not necessarily, so all the things in that check off the boxes way. But, just like I showed up the best I could for myself. And, I'm proud of how I showed up for this.

Speaker 1:

And, from what I can see, and I feel like it's a lot of experience, it does seem to translate into… And you're still there and you still have the hope. So, keep that hope alive. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And 42, I know it feels, I know you've been at this a long time, but you do have… Time is still on your side. I'll say that.

Speaker 2:

That's good to know. Because, when we initially started this journey with fertility treatment stuff, the thing that they would tell me was you're too old. You're too fat. You're too old. And it just depressing from the very beginning, to fight and we needed the professional to, but it was, you're too old. And then by the time it was IVF, I was definitely too old.

Speaker 1:

What I say to all them is fuck off.

Speaker 1:

You were not too fat, and you were not too old. No matter where you're at. It's just such shitty messaging. It just is. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Speaker 1:

But, it's you taking back the power over yourself, right? And, stepping back into your power and the two of you doing this together. And, we get to see how it unfolds.

Speaker 2:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm excited for you. So F off is right. That's my team saying?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, healthy at any weight.

Speaker 1:

That is our motto and also healthy at any age. I have women, honestly, six, seven years older than you who are doing it with their own eggs. And why can't you?

Speaker 1:

And I have 42. I just did a post the other day of one of my clients who's 42 and previously we couldn't get any normal embryos. She had one miscarriage with an untested embryo that they had transferred and in five IVFs, she only made it to transfer twice because she never got blast in the other three. And, then she worked with me, same thing. She was like, I'm putting everything on hold. I'm doing the hundred days. I'm in this full blown, two PGS normals. She got now she's 42 and a half, almost 43. And then we just transferred and second beta was yesterday and we're doing it.

Speaker 2:

So, that's good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. But, also she's almost two years older in this process and it goes against everything that we're taught.

Speaker 1:

Well, eggs can't improve. It's like, well, I don't know. She just did it. So, why can't you do it? We can definitely improve as we age.

Speaker 2:

And, I look forward to continuing and I definitely look forward to actually keeping those good, healthy, organic, non-pesticides and no trans, no preservatives habits when-

Speaker 1:

That's it. That's it, when. Because no, this is for baby, too. And I think about that. I think about you're laying the foundation for their life. And, so I do think spiritually sometimes they're like, I need you to be here because I need you to be this kind of mom for me. And, so it's just trusting in lining up of all the things. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So,

Speaker 1:
