As a women's health and fertility expert, I’ve seen firsthand how environmental toxins can interfere with hormone balance and reproductive health (that’s also why I created a completely nontoxic and fertility friendly skin care line). But here’s the empowering truth: by making small, conscious changes in your daily life, you can significantly reduce your toxic load and support your fertility—naturally. These are the same principles I teach in my Yes, You Can Get Pregnant book and in my Fertility Coaching Programs, where I guide women to reclaim their wellness and prepare their bodies for pregnancy.
1. Choose Organic Foods
I always tell my clients: food is medicine. Choose organic produce whenever possible to reduce pesticide exposure. Prioritize organic, grass-fed meat and dairy products to avoid hormone-disrupting chemicals that may negatively impact your reproductive system.
2. Use Non-Toxic Cookware and Storage
Plastic containers containing BPA and phthalates can leach harmful chemicals into your food. Instead, store your food in glass or stainless steel containers. For cooking, I recommend using ceramic, cast iron, or stainless steel cookware, steering clear of non-stick surfaces that contain toxic coatings. I have a complete list of all my Aimee approved bath, beauty and household items here.
3. Filter Your Water
Water is essential to health, but it can also be a source of heavy metals, chlorine, and other contaminants. I recommend investing in a high-quality water filter (I have a list of ones I love here). And skip the plastic bottled water—it's often full of microplastics and endocrine disruptors.
4. Switch to Natural Personal Care Products
What you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your mouth. Use fragrance-free, organic skincare and haircare products. Avoid parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances—all of which can mess with your hormones. I dive deeper into this in my book, Body Belief, where I talk about healing your body from the inside out. Take a moment to check out my fertility, friendly and completely nontoxic organic skin care line, Aimee Raupp Beauty.
5. Reduce Exposure to Household Toxins
Your home should be a sanctuary. Choose eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products—or make your own using simple ingredients like vinegar and baking soda (I have so many DIY recipes in my best-selling fertility books). I also recommend improving indoor air quality with houseplants and a good air purifier, especially if you're on a fertility journey.
6. Avoid Pesticides and Herbicides
Even if you buy organic, always wash your fruits and veggies thoroughly. For your home and garden, look for natural pest control options instead of harsh chemical sprays.
7. Minimize EMF Exposure
Reducing electromagnetic frequency (EMF) exposure can be supportive for hormonal health. Try to limit wireless device use, keep electronics away from your body, and power down Wi-Fi at night. Use wired connections when you can—every little bit helps.
By being mindful of your environment, you create space for healing and balance. These simple steps are part of the holistic approach to fertility I share in all my teachings. If you want personalized guidance, I invite you to explore my Group and Private Coaching Programs where I walk you through every step of your healing journey.
You have the power to radically shift your health and fertility—naturally. I’m here to guide you. 💛
With love and hope,
Aimee 💗
