Welcome to Stories of Hope: True tales of life, love, and perseverance from the Yes, You Can Get Pregnant community. Because we’re on the fertility journey together.
This month, I am sharing the story of a woman in the Yes, You Can Get Pregnant community who is still on the journey to pregnancy. Her name is Jill, and she is 42. She has experienced loss and heartbreak, but she has not given up hope. Here is her story:
After a full year of #TTC naturally, three failed IVF cycles and just before starting my fourth IVF cycle, I got pregnant naturally at the age of 42! This pregnancy happened NATURALLY on a vacation we took to Europe. Unfortunately, I did just miscarry the pregnancy, but the hope I now have in conceiving again is like nothing before.
Considering we tried for almost two years and never once had a pregnancy, not even a chemical pregnancy, the fact that I now, at the age of 42, can get pregnant naturally is a true miracle. I know this pregnancy had so much to do with following Aimee’s Yes, You Can Get Pregnant protocol for the past four months. Although the miscarriage is heartbreaking, the renewed sense of faith I have in my body and its ability to conceive is miraculous in and of itself.
I am continuing on your protocol (and the Chinese herbs) with the knowing in my heart that my baby is coming to me soon. I think my body just needs more time on your protocol. I know that I still have a long road ahead of me before I’m holding my baby, but I’m definitely more hopeful than ever before. Thank you for all you do for women like me. -Jill

Miscarriage can be one of the most challenging experiences for women and couples trying to conceive. It’s not only a physical loss but also an emotional journey that can feel overwhelming. Many women find solace in sharing their experiences and realizing they are not alone in their struggles. Support groups and online communities can provide a safe space to express feelings, share stories, and offer encouragement to one another.
5 Steps to Healing After Miscarriage
1. Acknowledge Your Grief: Recognizing the pain and sadness associated with a miscarriage is vital. Allow yourself to feel and express your emotions. This may involve talking to friends, family, or a therapist.
2. Seek Support: Surrounding yourself with supportive people who understand your situation can make a significant difference. Consider joining support groups or online communities where you can share your experiences.
3. Take Care of Your Body: Prioritize self-care by focusing on nutrition, exercise, and rest. Incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine can aid recovery and improve overall wellbeing.
4. Educate Yourself: Understanding the medical aspects of miscarriage can empower you. Speak with healthcare professionals about any concerns or questions you may have regarding future pregnancies.
5. Cultivate Hope: Maintain a positive outlook for the future. Engaging in visualization techniques or positive affirmations can reinforce your hope and belief in your ability to conceive again.
Understanding the importance of healing after a miscarriage is crucial. It’s essential to allow oneself to grieve and process the loss. Engaging in self-care practices such as journaling, meditation, or therapy can be beneficial. These practices help individuals reconnect with their emotions and foster resilience.
Emotional health is tightly linked to physical health, especially in the context of fertility. When stress and anxiety are high, it can impact hormone levels and, consequently, fertility. Therefore, addressing emotional wellbeing is just as critical as focusing on physical health during this period. Integrating mindfulness and relaxation techniques can help manage stress and restore balance.
Moreover, nutrition plays a pivotal role in recovery. Consuming a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals can support the body during the healing process. Foods high in antioxidants can help reduce inflammation, while omega-3 fatty acids can improve mood and overall health. Seeking guidance from a nutritionist who specializes in fertility can provide personalized advice tailored to individual needs.
As you continue on your journey, remember that seeking medical advice and support is crucial. Regular consultations with healthcare providers can help monitor any underlying issues that may affect future pregnancies. They can also provide insights into possible treatments or lifestyle changes that could enhance fertility and overall wellness.
Connecting with others who have faced similar challenges can also provide a sense of community and validation. Online forums, local support groups, or even social media channels focused on fertility can serve as platforms for sharing experiences, resources, and encouragement.
In summary, the journey through miscarriage and towards renewed hope in fertility is multifaceted. It involves emotional healing, physical care, and community support. By embracing this journey with openness and resilience, individuals can foster a deeper connection to their bodies and their fertility.
