The Yes, You Can Get Pregnant Fertility Enhancing Acupressure Guide

The exercise of acupressure is not a replacement for the powerful medicine of acupuncture; rather it is meant to be an additional therapy you and your partner can practice in the comfort of your own home to enhance & optimize fertility. Here are the important steps to your new acupressure ritual:

Your Commitment:

Practice 3-5 of these acupressure points on yourself & your partner for 1-2 minutes every day for the next 30 days (or more). There are ten recommended points, so you can do 5 one day and the other 5 the next day or break them up over 3 days. It is ideal to do all the recommended points, but you don’t have to do all then of them every day. To make sure you get this in, schedule it in your calendar and make it a part of your DAILY morning or evening routine. Say, “YES!” to putting this new ritual on your calendar now!

Your Mantras:

Each acupressure point comes with its own Yes, You Can Get Pregnant mantra. These mantras should be repeated, either to yourself or out loud, while applying acupressure to the recommended points. Extra credit: do the acupressure with your partner & say the mantras out loud, together. This will further sync up your fertile energy as a couple.

Your Benefits:

So you can further support your fertile body on its path to optimal fertility, knclicow that your new acupressure ritual will bring you free flowing energy (aka Qi) throughout your body, healthy blood flow to your reproductive organs, balanced hormones, a calmer nervous system & a greater sense of peace. Remember: taking care of YOU is the most important step in optimal health & fertility. When you prioritize your body & it’s health, your body & health will support you on your path to pregnancy.

FAQ’s

How long should I do acupressure on the recommended acupuncture points? Do each point for about 1 minute on each side of your body.

Can I do this more than once per day? Sure! You can massage these points throughout your day but you don’t need to. I say doing each point 1-2 times per day is sufficient. You can massage the points as often as you’d like throughout the day. I recommend 1-3x/day.

Do I have to use a specific finger or do it a special way? You can use whatever finger feels the most comfortable. Apply pressure in a clockwise fashion (as if you are the clock) with enough pressure to push a thumbtack into a cork board. For the points that I suggest using the tapping method, you can use several fingers at once. Most importantly, do what is most comfortable for you and your partner.

The point hurts, is that normal? Yes, feeling tenderness at some or all of these points is normal and also a sign that there is some Qi blocked at the point. Doing the acupressure regularly will really help regulate the function of the acupuncture point.

I feel sad/angry/anxious after doing the acupressure, is that normal? Acupuncture points are potent energy reservoirs and that means that doing acupressure on them can cause some emotions to release. This is a good thing as we want those emotions to come up and out. Embrace them and be kind to yourself.

I can still feel the point after I have finished the acupressure. Feeling something at the acupuncture point, like an achey or a pulsation or an itch, after completing your acupressure is normal. In fact, it’s a good sign. It shows that you have activated the point and the benefits are still taking effect.

My partner doesn’t want to take part. That’s a bummer as they can really help your partner (male or female) too. But don’t force it. Rather than getting upset with them, send them love and know that they are on their own path to healing & fertility. Take a moment to visualize them eventually coming around and joining you in this practice.

One side hurts more than the other. This is totally normal. As you continue this practice, the soreness should subside. Also note that some of these points are more tender at different times of your cycle.

How hard do I press these acupuncture points? Is more pressure more effective? No. Apply just enough pressure that you feel it, but don’t press so hard that you cause a bruise. I like to think about how much pressure it would take to press a thumbtack into a cork board and that’s the perfect amount of pressure for acupressure.

I just got a positive pregnancy test (YAY!), can I still practice the acupressure? CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I knew you would! Yes, all of the points I recommend here are pregnancy safe. However, cut back to only doing these points once per day.
