Acupuncture Eases Depression During Pregnancy

A study that will be published in the March 2010 edition of the esteemed medical journal, Obstetrics and Gynecology, has found that acupuncture given to pregnant women reduced depression symptoms by 50%.

The study consisted of women put in a “control” acupuncture group (they were given acupuncture but the treatment wasn't specified for depression), “depression” acupuncture group (these women were given acupuncture treatments specific for depression) and a massage group (these women were just given Swedish massage).

All in all the women in the “depression” specific acupuncture group showed the most dramatic change in their depression symptoms.
