Introduction to Acupuncture
Traditional Oriental Medicine includes acupuncture, Chinese herbology,
nutrition and exercise, all of which are based on over 2000 years
of clinical application. These therapies work with our bodies’
natural vital energy in order to promote the body’s ability
to heal itself.
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to heal naturally
by improving overall bodily function and preventing disease. This
is done by inserting very fine, sterilized, stainless-steel, disposable
needles into specific points located near or on the surface of
the skin. Acupuncture has the ability to treat a wide variety
of illnesses by altering various biochemical and physiological
conditions within the body.
Both the World Health Organization and the National Institute
of Health have cited that acupuncture can treat a very broad range
of illnesses, including:
- Allergies
- Arthritis
- Fatigue
- Menopause
- Insomnia
- Decreased Immunity
- Infertility
- Sexual Dysfunction
- Dizziness
- Tinnitus
- Hormonal Imbalances
- High Blood Pressure
- Endocrine Disorders
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Chronic Pain
- Gastrointestinal Disorders
- Headaches and Migraines
- Gynecological Disorders
